Winters Moon

A winter moon rises over the farm.
All is quiet except for the howling of they coyotes in the distance.
 The equipment awaits warmer days!

Bad Moon Rising

Okay, well it's really not a bad moon rising, but it is almost a full moon rising.
Rising over the farm!
Hubby commented on the moon yesterday evening while we were sitting outside.
I turned to look and saw this pretty scene.
Snapped the photo with my iPhone, so it's not a good quality shot, but still pretty none the less.

It feels as if summer has come to an end, but we still have one more cutting of hay to get done before summer is officially done!

And the Bad Moon Rising reference is from the Creedence Clearwater Revival song of long ago!

Hunters Moon on the Rise

The October full moon is known as the Hunters Moon.

I took this photo on my way home from work on Wednesday, October 16 just after 6 p.m.
I took this shot on Friday, October 18 just after 7 p.m.
The Hunters moon was full and bright rising over our valley!
It's been keeping me and the critters awake at night!

A full moon is never better seen then in a rural location far from city lights!

A Super Moon to See

I was on the computer yesterday evening when I suddenly remembered about the Super Moon. I grabbed my old camera and headed outside. Sure enough, the moon was just starting to rise above the mountain range directly in front of our house. I was using my old Kodak camera, as my little point and shoot will not capture moon shots at all. My older Kodak (I've had it since 2004) is on its last legs. I was surprised at how well it did last night when I took these shots. Moon shots are hard to capture. I don't have a tripod, so I have to try and control the camera shake to avoid getting blurry photos. These shots are SOC (straight out of the camera shots). It really wasn't that dark yet when I took these shots, but using the flash darkened the background and seemed to make the moon pop! These shots were all taken within a few seconds of each other. Last nights moon was a big, bright, pretty sight to see!

Did you see the Super Moon?

Silent Sunday ~ The Night

I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day. ~Vincent Van Gogh

I See The Moon.........

I see the moon
And the moon sees me
And the moon sees the ones I hold dear to me

So God bless the moon
And God bless me
And God bless the ones I hold dear to meI see the moon
And the moon sees me
And the moon sees the ones that I long to seeSo God bless the moon
And God bless me
And God bless the ones that I long to seeI see the moon
And the moon sees me
And the moon sees the world that I long to seeSo God bless the moon
And God bless me
And God bless the world that I long to see
The moon shots were taken this evening from my front porch.
My little digital Kodak DX 7590 did a pretty good job
These shots are straight out of the camera........
