Nothing Feels Better...

 

Then a nice long nap in a spot of afternoon sun!

You can't really see the spot of sun in the photo, but it was there and the cat was sure enjoying it!

 

I on the other hand won't be napping anytime soon!

I'm working this long weekend!

It's fair time here and since I'm in charge of the county 4-H program, I will be on the go all weekend!

I enjoy my job and this weekend is the culmination of a year of hard work on the part of all of the

4-H youth in the county program!

It is a joy to see how they have all grown, not just in height or age, but in responsibility, sportsmanship, compassion and how much their over-all life skills have expanded!

I'm proud of them all!

This activity filled weekend will keep me on my toes!

My body will ache and my feet and legs will protest all the running around, but in the end...

I will smile!

And then....come Monday...I will find my own patch of sun and take a nice long nap!

 

 

Nothing Says Summer Like A...

Fresh Peach Pie!

I snapped a photo of the pie I made last weekend before I put the top crust on.

The peaches were just so pretty!

The fruit came from Idaho.

The guy that hauls hay for us has been bringing us yummy fruits and veggies off and on all summer!

The pie was delicious!

Critter Rows

All of the rows I have seen lately are worked related.

It's that time of year when I'm up to my ears in 4-H shows and getting ready for the county fair.

Fair prep takes weeks of work, work, work!

The end of July and first of August brought the two day 4-H Horse Show.

The photo below shows the senior 4-H showmanship class.

That's my girl and Gizmoe first in line!

Last Friday brought the 4-H Dairy Goat Show.

Lots of little Pee Wee's competing this year!

Senior 4-H'ers were on hand in the ring to lend a helping hand to the younger members.

A Little Weeding

I'm lazy!

I fully admit to it!

I detest weeding!

I didn't tackle the weeds when they were small earlier this summer!

The weeds grew into giant tumble weeds and they mocked me from my window every time I looked out at them!

In swoops my farmer man with his loader to save the day!

This is how you get the job done...in a hurry!

It's So Hot

Even the dog toys are looking for a way to cool off!

We are heading into the second week of triple digits here!

I know, I know...it's summer and it's supposed to be hot, but I'm kinda over it now!

Looking forward to cooler temps...at some point! 

Nevada Traffic Jam

It never fails...when I'm in a hurry...something trips me up.

Headed to work on July 31 which was 4-H Horse Show day.

Had to be there early, early, early!

What do we come upon as we leave the valley...

Yep...it was cow moving day!

Lots of cow critters meandering up the road.

Oh well, sometimes when we are in a hurry we need to remember to stop and smell the....
