I Saw a Puddy-Tat

Can you see the little house finch in the photo?
He's sitting on the tire on the 4-wheeler.

This cute little male house finch...
drove this cat crazy for over an hour on Friday morning!
The little bird enjoyed its game of "you can't get me" and the cat...well he practically thumped a hole in the wall with his tail trying to figure out a way to get through the window!
Our cats are indoor cats, thanks to the multitude of dangers that await them outside.
Like...
No trees to climb to get away from danger!
Coyotes that will pack them off as an easy meal!
Big tractors and equipment that can't stop on a dime if they run out in front of it!
Hawks, owls and even a golden eagle now and then that can swoop in and carry them off!
And evil house finches who I am sure would torment them silly if given a chance...lol!

Rows ~ Farm Style

Thursday came and went with no row post from me.
I've been up to my arse in work issues all week.

I took a little walk around the farm equipment yard this morning and spotted plenty of rows.
The morning was chilly and the sky was a clear, bright blue and filled with wispy clouds.
I could hear a meadowlark call from the field across from the house.

A row of various farm equipment waiting for warmer days and fields to work.
Hay rake with many rows.
Rows on the new swather.
Big tire tread in rows.
No slip grip stuff and rivets in a row.
Swathers...one old, one new.
More equipment.
Ladder looking thing with rows...on the ground.

Head on over to Pats at A View from the Edge to see more Rows.

Fickle Weather

In recent days the weather has alternated between temps in the low 60's to windy to rainy to snow.
A weekend storm produced a white blanket of the fluffy stuff, twice!
We woke up yesterday to snow on the ground.
A very wet snow!
By yesterday afternoon most of that first snow was melting.
Late yesterday evening it started to snow again.
This time the flakes were falling in soft, fluffy form.
This morning the valley was covered in a blanket of white.

It really looks like soft, fluffy clouds covering the ground.
The official start of spring is a mere few days away...
but winter isn't willing to give up so easily!
(this is really only the third or fourth good snow we have had all winter!)

I Wonder

Storm clouds rolled through our area yesterday.
On the way home from town my daughter who was driving pointed out the scene below.
I made her stop on the county road so I could take some photos before we continued our journey home.
I liked the cloud formation and the little rainbow was an added bonus.

I wonder...was there a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow?

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

POOF!

My work computer crashed yesterday afternoon!
I was right in the middle of prepping for two important meetings and all my work went...
POOF!

I had to head off to my meetings, so our administrative assistant took over my computer and called our IT guy on campus in Reno. They worked together for over an hour via the phone to get my computer back up and working.

They got zip, zilch, nada, to work!
I was given the news as I went from one meeting to the next.
My computer will now make the two hour journey to Reno to be worked on.
Sure enough, if your computer crashes, everyone and their uncle will need some document that you have...
only on your computer!

The good news is everything was backed-up on our main system.
The bad news is the lap top I'm using is not able to access our main system so I can get to my documents!

I have spent the better part of my day today feeling rather lost...
without my computer!
TGIF!

Rows on Friday

I had to work last weekend in Reno.
The hotel we stayed at had some interesting paintings.
I noticed the rows within the paintings and snapped a few shots.
Those few snap shots are all I have to share this week for Thursday's Things in a Row.

I like the rows of windows at the end of the passageway in this painting.
This painting was full of rows!

Be sure to visit Pat at A View from the Edge to see more rows.
