Birthday Fun and Food

This is a rather random birthday post.
My birthday was on the 4th of July.
We had two celebrations this year.

On Sunday we went to my parents place in town and had a family dinner.
Fillet Mignon, grilled chicken, potato salad, fresh veggies and gluten free pasta salad were on the menu and a little vino too!
Then there was gluten free cake for dessert.
Cowboy M. insisted on lighting the candles on my cake.
We sang Happy Birthday to the three of us in the room that celebrate our birthdays within days of each other. Mine on the 4th, Hayman on the 7th and Cowboy M on the 14th.
I was in charge of blowing out the candles.
Good thing mom only had a few candles to put on the cake!

On Monday the 4th, we stayed home and enjoyed a quiet, relaxing day on the farm.
We grilled on the Camp Chef for my b-day dinner.
We enjoyed a little wine and a watermelon salad.
We devoured this plate of shrimp and grilled limes.
Have you ever had grilled limes?
They are awesome!
I had a little pedicure and cute little flowers painted on my toes.
I baked a cheesecake for my birthday dessert.
A Puckett's Firecracker Cheesecake to be exact!
Crustless, which made it gluten free.
We turned our slices of cheesecake into alligators with bulging eyes....lol.
Who needs fireworks when you have evening skies like this!
As the sun set and the moon came out, I said good bye to 41...
And embraced number 42 around the sun!

Holy magoly! You guys sure do eat well there. Will you adopt me?!

Seriously!

Those shrimps and limes look sublime! And the cheesecake...almost too pretty to eat....almost!

Sounds like you had the best birthday celebrations ever! And I was thinking those were a lot of candles on your cake....I never allow more than 1 or 2 on mine, but you had more than one person celebrating their birthday.

And your toes! So cute! I've not had a pedicure since I was in my early 20's....yeah over 20 years ago!

The shrimp and limes looked de-LISH!

Nothing like a sunset sky. Beats fireworks every.single.time.

Happy Birthday!
