All in White

I took a few minutes to walk around the grounds at work today.

The lilac bush is finally blooming!

It is the prettiest white lilac bush I have seen yet!

Usually there are bees working over the flowers, but I didn't notice any today.

The walk provided a few minutes for me to take a much needed "breath" and reflect on the past week and upcoming events.

Last week and the start of this week were hectic, busy and crazy!

Which has left me feeling frazzled, confused, cranky, loopy and wacky!

Last week was filled with deadlines at work.

Why does everyone seem to leave their paperwork to turn in at the last minute. They have had said paperwork since May 5th! I send things out way in advance so everyone will have plenty of time to get their required forms filled out and turned in on time without feeling rushed.

Do they turn it in early...NO! They wait until the last day and then rush into my office to fill it all out ten minutes before it is due!

I try really, really hard to do my job well and streamline the process to make things easier for the youth and their families that are involved in our program.

But damn if they don't make me feel like a doormat at times!

Believe me when I say that twice last week I could have gone home on two separate nights and drank an entire bottle of wine by myself simply because I was that frazzled!

On top of all of the work deadlines there was graduation and other events to attend.

Country Chick's boyfriend and several other friends graduated on Thursday evening.

Then there was the all night Grad party which Country Chick attend with her boyfriend.

They had a great time! (all night grad party translates to mother hen of said chick not sleeping well!)

Then there were grad parties to attend on Friday evening and all day Saturday.

A baptism filled up our Sunday morning and the usual shopping in town and chores at home filled up the afternoon.
Next thing I knew...it was Monday all over again!

Monday was hectic at work with non-stop phone ringing and people coming in and out of my office all day!
I wanted to go to the supply closet and hide!
Yesterday was a carry-over from Monday!
And today I am bogged down in paperwork! Icky stuff that paperwork!

The next few weeks are jam-packed with events that are work related and that is on top of the usual personal stuff that still has to get done.

Coming up:
A week filled with meetings at work.
Horse meetings for Country Chick.
A horse show on the 18th that our County Program is hosting, which means I work it and Country Chick participates in it.
ATV Camp that we co-host with another youth organization the third week in June.
A camp volunteer training for volunteers on the 25th which involves travel to another county.
A 4-H camp for local youth the 27th - 29th which involves travel with teens to present workshops to youth.
That pretty much covers the rest of my month!
And then July kicks off with a bang and more work related deadlines and obligations!

Hmmm...that closet and wine are starting to sound very appealing!
Either that or I will be decked out all in white because I will be in a straight jacket cause I lost my mind!
