Probably Not the Last

This was the first horse show that County Chic and Gizmo competed in after just one month and two weeks of consistent riding. It probably won't be the last either!

Yesterday's post detailed the showmanship, equitation classes and trail events.
Today's post....Gymkhana Classes.
First up...Single Stake.
This event consists of starting at one end of the arena and riding down to the other end and around a single pole and then riding back down to the starting point.
It is a timed event and in the novice classes the riders must either walk their mount, slow trot or fast jog their mount.
Country Chic had a nice fast jog going.
Down they went and back they came!
They took second in this event!
Did I mention that it was very cold on Saturday?
I'm pretty sure Country Chic's teeth were chattering when I took this photo!
The next event was novice poles.

Making a nice turn before weaving back through the poles.
Looking good!
Then back across the timers to record the official time.
Again, Country Chic did this at a nice fast jog.
Look mom, we took first in poles! Woot!
Next up was cloverleaf barrels.
Down they went...
Around they went...
And back they came!
They had a nice run and time and took fourth in the barrels event.
It was a fabulous day!
Country Chic and Gizmo placed in all seven classes that they were entered in!
Way to go Kiddo!
I'm so Stink'in Proud of YOU!!
These two make a great team!
She loves Gizmo and guess what....He loves her too!
*Big Smile*
We spoiled Gizzie with apple cinnamon rice treats...he really, really liked them....A LOT!

Bed never felt so good on Saturday night! *Wink

Whooohooo! Way to go! She is a natural on a horse. And look! She's is covered in ribbons! Woot! And in such a short time, too. Looks like she's been competing her entire life.

I'm guessing that you'll be horse shopping for her first horse within the next couple years. Uh huh.
