Trick Ropers

Amazing Trick Ropers!
The 4-H State event this past Saturday had two rounds of entertainment...a local family that does trick roping and a cowboy poet that traveled from Virginia City, NV.

During the lunch break on Saturday we were entertained by a local trick roping family.

There were three young men in the group and they put on a great show!

The boys ranged in age from high school to grammar school.

This little guy was the youngest of the group.
I just love the look of concentration on his face!

The music they roped to was traditional Spanish music.
Their mother explained that they have learned the trick roping art from their father and grandfather.
You could feel and see the pride in their performance!

The tricks they performed kept the room on the edge of their seats!

This young man was the oldest of the group.
He has been trick roping since he was very little.
He also breaks horses, which he has learned to do from his father, uncles and grandfather.
He is 14!

We were astounded by the talent these young men had.
Everyone in the room was very impressed by their talent!
I took a video of their performance, but can't seem to get it to format correctly to post it.
If I ever get it to work right, I will put it up.

Our Saturday evening entertainment was a Cowboy Poet!
His talent filled the room with Western lore and wrapped up our event with Cowboy flare!

The State 4-H event turned out amazingly well. We had over 100 people in attendance for both days of the event despite the fact that the weather was horrible for travel. I was on the go non-stop for the entire thing! My volunteer helpers, leaders and youth Ambassadors were AMAZING! 4-H is truly a volunteer driven organization and I have the BEST volunteers EVER!
My youth Ambassadors ROCKED and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for all of their help!

Thank you to all of you who have left such sweet, kind comments on the posts about Country Chic and Gizmo! You have brought smiles to us both!

Oh and thank you for taking those naps for me...I think they really helped! *Wink* *Smile*
