Chilling Out...

Here it is the last day of November. How the heck did that happen? Time is but a fleeting thing these days. Ah well, sometimes you just gotta roll with it and do what needs doing and forget the rest.

Thanksgiving was wonderful. We gathered at my parents house for dinner. Cowboy M had the day off so he and his friend Kari were able to join us. He works shift work at the mine and so he doesn't always get to spend holidays with us. It just depends how his schedule falls. My sis and Kev came for a visit after turkey day and we had a great time with them, the visit just wasn't long enough though.

This was my first gluten free holiday. I found out this past June that I am gluten intolerant, so therefore, no more gluten for me. Going and being gluten free has made a huge difference in my life. The entire meal was gluten free...right down to the stuffing. (there were non-gluten free dishes as well, but I just stayed away from those) I made two pies and yes, even those were gluten free.

Kari made an amazing cherry pie. It was her first time making a homemade crust and she knocked it out of the park! Everyone raved about how good it was. I did sneak a taste of the filling and it was so yummy.

I got a little snap happy with the kiddos and took some fun pictures.

Even managed to get a photo of me and Cowboy M.

We have been experiencing a cold snap here in our neck of the desert. Since the beginning of November the airport has recorded over 8 inches of snow in our area. Our little valley has probably received 5 inches or so. The temps have been in the low teens to 20's for day time highs and down to 0 or below at night! The freezing temps have made for some interesting road conditions at times which makes driving to work challenging at times, but the cold temps do make for good hot chocolate and a fire in the fireplace days.
I don't have any pictures of the snow to post...why you ask...well umm, I just don't. But it's supposed to snow some more in the next day or so and maybe just maybe I'll keep my camera handy to snap a few shots for ya.
