I noticed last week that the swallows had returned. Countrychick noticed them too and took photos during the week. These shots were taken through the dinning room windows. The swallows seem to like to perch on my rooster hanger that is outside the window. These two are a pair...Mr. and Mrs. Swallow as we fondly call them. Swallows will return year after year to build and nest in the same area. These two are looking to build a nest on my front porch.

Tell Countrychick she caught some very nice shots of the swallows. Our barn swallows returned a couple days ago, too! Yes, they return to the same mud-daubed nests in the barn rafters and are such fun to watch. Eventually, the new babies will start peering over the edge of the nest....so cute!

I love to see the new babies peeking over the nest...they are so cute. Someone once told me that if you have swallows that nest on your house or in your barns...it means good luck! I have let them nest wherever they want since...=)
Hmmm...I wonder if my swallows have come back to the barn yet? With the luck I've been having, I'm highly doubting it :(
But your swallows look very content and happy to be back. Perching on your rooster looks so funny! Made me laugh. :D

I love swallows. They're so delicate looking and graceful. How did you manage to get them sitting still for longer than a second!
