Five Years

I received my five year service award on Monday.

The county I work for likes to recognize it's employees.

My job is a bit unique in that I work for the county, but I'm running a state program through the University.

While the county position has been very stable, the state program has seen dramatic changes over the past two years!

Changes that have not been for the better, which is sad! 

When I started in my position five years ago, I had a great support network of people throughout the state to look to for guidance and help.

Over the past three years, every one of those people that I worked with have retired or left and moved on.

It's been tough to say the least! 

I think I will call this my "hanging in there" award! 

 So here's Cheers to five years!
