The Snakes are Out

Outside our door that is!
The darn slithery things are all over the place right now!
This one took up residence under our back porch steps.
Megs almost stepped on it the other evening!
She doesn't scream (like her mom does) or run from them (like her mom does).
What does she do...
She calmly walks into the house to get the camera to take a photo of it, that's what she does!
She hates spiders with a passion, but a snake she is not afraid of.
Brave child of mine!

The weather conditions must have been just right over the winter and early spring because the snakes are out and about in abundance in our valley!

They can come and go as they please, just stay away from my yard because if I "almost" step on one I'm likely to have a heart attack!

I hope he's not poisonous. I would take a picture, too.

Did you see my post today about the raven that was carrying a snake and he dropped it on the road right in front of my car? I'd never seen that before. Of course, it was dead (it wasn't a rattlesnake either...)

Yep, they're out. We've seen a few rattlers while riding down in the Rio Grande Valley. And just the other day, I found a small bull snake in our garage. eeek!
We scooted him back outside, even if we really could use his hunting services for the mice in our garage.

Snakes creep me out, and yes I scream when I see them. I also have a daughter that is not afraid of snakes, she use to pick them up. But, now spiders are a different thing with her also, she is afraid of them. I say, 'hey, I can squash them,' but get the snake away from me....
