This past Saturday kicked off the summer horse shows (there will be 3) for Countrychick.
It turned out to be a pretty decent day for the show, despite the afternoon wind.
Countrychick and Gizmoe competed in 11 classes total.
The first class was a halter class for geldings three and over.
Gizmoe placed first in hist class and was then invited back to the show ring for the over-all halter horse class.
He won that too!
Just gotta love it when a Mustang beats out registered horses! *wink wink
There was only one other horse that would have beat out Gizzy, but he wasn't entered into the halter classes.
So Countrychick, as the handler, and Gizmoe won two blue ribbons and a very nice blue halter.
Then it was on to showmanship.
Countrychick has her jog down-pat now!
Setting up for the judges inspection.
They placed first in the class which equaled another blue ribbon.
Then came the Western Equitation class which consisted of a pattern that had to be ridden exactly right.
They completed it successfully!
Then it was on to the Western Pleasure class.
I love this photo and the look of concentration on my daughters face!
I missed getting photos of the trail class, but Countrychick and Gizmoe had a great run.
She even got him to side pass correctly, which they have been working on a lot lately.
After the lunch break it was time for the Speed events.
Gizmoe really loves to run poles!
I was in the announcers booth all day and all of the above photos were shot with me hanging out the window and using the zoom lens. Sometimes it's hard to be the proud mama and work at the same time.
All of the hard work and concentration paid off for these two!
They finished the day with eight blue ribbons, two third place ribbons and Countrychick received High Point in her division!
WOOT, WOOT!
Horse meetings, riding and training will continue throughout the summer.
These two will attend a few clinics to help them as well.
The next show coming up will be the first part of August!
Keep up the great work Countrychick!
You and Gizmoe are doing Awesome!
Love Ya!

Well done Countrychick! My cousin on the east coast rides and shows her horses as well. She would love this post!
Wow! Way to go! Those two are cleaning up!
I bet Gizmo's owner is extremely proud, too!
