Drumb Roll Please

On Friday Country Chic passed the first phase riding portion of the Nevada 4-H Horse Levels test.
There are four levels in the entire program.
Each level requires a different level of equine riding knowledge, ground knowledge and safety knowledge.
It takes most youth six months of continues book work and riding to pass the first portion of the test.
Country Chic passed the written portion last month. She officially started riding three weeks ago on a regular basis. She had a fall early on that bruised her tailbone and shoulder, but she kept right on going! Last week she rode every day in windy, freezing temperatures to prepare for this test.
All of her hard work and dedication paid off! She received her first levels riding medal and certificate!
She and Gizmo really rocked on Friday!

The following video shows her warming up in the enclosed arena that we used for the testing/training.

There were a total of seven riders that tested on Friday and ten adult 4-H horse leaders that became certified 4-H Horse Levels raters. (which means they have gone through the needed and required training to test and rate youth riders in their respective counties).

Since our county was the hosting county for the State 4-H Leaders' Forum, I was a busy gal.
I wasn't able to stay for the entire horse event as I had to head over to the convention center to take care of set up, check-in and the prep-work for the Friday night dinner.

Country Chic with Gizmo and two of our other club riders and their horses.

The testing/training started at 9 a.m. and ended around 3 p.m.
It was a long day for all of the riders, horses and leaders. They had to deal with snow outside and freezing temps inside the arena.
Gizmo got a little sleepy!
On Saturday evening at the banquet, Country Chic's name was drawn to receive a scholarship to next years State forum. This was a very exciting surprise! She also won a few items in the U-Pick raffle event...a horse grooming kit and a handmade necklace/bracelet set.
I am VERY,VERY PROUD of my daughter!
All of her hard work and dedication really paid off in aces this weekend!
Way to go kiddo! *Big Smile*

It was a long, busy weekend, but the entire event was a big success!
I have more to post on the event and will share that in the next day or so.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Thank you for stopping by to visit.

Okay, I don't know why the photos are not showing up or where they went! Confused and way too tired to try to figure it out tonight.
