Yes, it snowed...all day yesterday!
The wind blew strong and gusty all day as well!
Staying home and not making the drive to town for work was smart on my part.
There are three and four foot drifts in places!
This is off our back porch!
The snow drifted in swirls all around the house.
You can see the little Volcano in the background...the same one from yesterday's photo.
My feet disappearing into the snow!
The chickens coming out of their houses as I walked toward the coop.
You can see the large drift that piled up in the coop.
I couldn't open the gate!
Countrychick had to shovel the drift out and make a path for the chickens.
I know this might not seem like a lot of snow to those in the mid-western or eastern part of the country, but this is the most we have had all winter!
It is my understanding that our county road has some seriously deep drifts on it!

Oh the perks of winter. Snow is beautiful anyway. We just got a dusting over night. Nothing close to what you have. When I'm snowed in I curl up with a good book and enjoy going to La la land.
Oh man you guys really did get hit!
I saw a little blurb on the news talking about Nevada and people lining up in the grocery stores to stock up for the storm.
Keep warm!
Looks like you wouldn't have to throw those chickens in the freezer right about now! :0)
Good for you playing it safe--stay safe and warm!!!
The chickens look a bit miffed about all that snow blocking their paths. hehe!
I don't where all our snow is this winter. We typically get snow off and on all winter long, but we've only had two good snows and a few snow showers. That week of -27F was horrid! But still we didn't have much snow to go with it. We haven't had any rain since last August and we are seriously dry here. I am worrying about fire season now.
Stay warm there,
~Lisa
