The following photos were taken last Sunday after church. The previous week had been a busy one for Countrychick. Her boyfriend J. came home for a visit after completing his 13 weeks at Marine boot camp. They were very happy to see each other and spent lots of time together during his visit home. Countrychick and Private M. have known each other for several years, but only became a couple a few months before he left for boot camp. During the week of his visit we went shopping for a dress for Countrychick as he wanted her to have something special for the photos on Sunday. They picked out the dress she is wearing and what a beautiful choice it was!
It was a beautiful Sunday, but a tad on the chilly side. Between photos Countrychick was chattering!
They are such a cute couple! I tear up every time I look at these photos. (Its a mom thing!)
We are so proud of Private M. When he enlisted last summer he knew he would be leaving in September for boot camp. That parting was hard, but we made it through it. He didn't actually start boot camp until November due to some hassle from the recruiting office. Most young men would have thrown up their hands and given up, but not this young man. He stuck it out through all the hassle and came out the other side a proud young man and a United States Marine!
Darn handsome in the dress blues!
Countrychick, Private M., J and B. J is Countrychick's best friend and B is her boyfriend. They are such a cute couple and very supportive friends! This photo makes me cry too. (its an emotional mom thing!!)
Here I am with the kids. Someone didn't have her eyes open, but I like the photo anyway.
Private M. left last Sunday to return to base. He has twenty days of infantry training to complete and then he will be off to North Carolina for his job training. He will be a mechanic. He will be in North Carolina for three months and then after that he and we will find out where he will be stationed.
The photo below was taken just before he left. I just kept snapping away and captured this shot! I love it and yes, it makes me cry!
I am proud of my sweet, beautiful daughter and her Marine! Very Proud!

GORGEOUS!
Awwwww... What a cute couple.
Just stumbled on your blog from Drivin 55. My daughter is engaged to a Marine - stationed in El Paso but his brother just graduated from boot camp at Paris Island - where was your young man at? Also I see he's coming to NC - I'm assuming Camp Lejeune, same as my soon to be SIL's brother. Also that is where I live in Swansboro just outside Jacksonville where of course my daughter met her fiance.
And yes they are an adorable couple, your whole family is beautiful.
Thank you, Private M for serving our country.
I am a veteran's daughter and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Wow those pictures are beautiful!
I love your daughters dress. That is so neat that she wanted to get something special to take pictures in.
Her Marine is VERY handsome, especially in his uniform - what a good looking couple they make :D
I don't think it's just 'a mom thing' because looking at these pictures and reading through your blog post brings tears to my eye's as well. You captured some very special moments here; that is for sure.
What a great looking couple! Brings back the memories of when I dated (and later married) my Airman!
Your daughter is just stunning! You have a right to be proud. And her boyfriend seems to be a special 'catch'. I'd be crying, too. It's a Mom-thing. hehe!

I just happened onto your blog and am so happy that I did. Of course I have tears in my eyes right now, it is a "Mom" thing, but it's also a Marine Mom thing. Tell Private M our family says "Thanks" and thanks to his family and those that love him because they 'serve' also. Thank you so much for posting the photos, your daughter is beautiful and they make a sweet couple. Paris Island, Leguene, NC, it all seems to bring back so many memories - we totally fell in love with NC while our son was stationed there. Also, the mechanic MOS sounds very familiar also. I never pass up a chance to give a Marine (or any other military person) a hug - I'm sending one his way. This is long, gotta go. I'm putting you on my reading list so I can keep up.
From a very proud Semper Fi Mom
