Another 39th Birthday

Today is my mother's birthday. She is turning 39 years young once again! Doesn't she look fantastic!

Mom has three children; one son and two daughters. Mom had me when she turned 40, so that makes me the youngest in the family. I was a surprise to say the least. Mom didn't expect to have anymore kids, let alone at the age of 40! I was born in '69 and having a baby at 40 in '69 was not the norm. Poor mom worried the whole time she was pregnant with me and get this, she even prayed for twins. Bet you're glad that one didn't happen mom......he, he. One of me was enough! The twins thing comes into play because my siblings were much older than I. My brother was seventeen when I was born and off to college and my sis was fourteen at the time of my birth. So siblings as playmates I did not have, but it all worked out in the end. Mom went back to work when I started kindergarten at the age of six. Mom worked full time from that point on for the next twenty years or so. I always wondered why mom was so tired when she got home from work. Why she would get dinner done and then sit down and take a nap. Well now I get it! I now have a year of full time work under my belt and guess what, I now fully understand what "tired" really is! I have the utmost respect for what my mother did and sacrificed all those years ago! Mom, you were a wonderful role model! I hope you know how much I appreciate all that you did for me growing up and for the wonderful mother that you continue to be! Happy Birthday!

Mom is an amazing cook!

Your Mom DOES look fantastic!

It really is amazing the sacrifices our mothers made/make for us. My Mom worked the graveyard shift during my formative years, so she would be home during the day for us kids. Even though she was sleeping, she was always there in an emergency.

Your mom is beautiful! BTW so are you I don't think I had seen a picture of you before.
I love your tribute to your mother here - she sounds like a special lady and a wonderful mother.
It would be quite a surprise to have a baby at 40 but I bet she enjoyed every moment of your growing up years.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to your beautiful Mom!!

You look so much like her, except taller. Is your Dad tall?

I can relate to having a baby when older. I had my daughter when I was 37 yrs old. And I had twins! But I had them when I was 30. lol!

Oh No! I missed it; I've been slacking and haven't been reading or posting to the blogs! and now I've missed a wonderful person's Birthday!

Happy Belated Birthday wishes are going to you your mom now! I'll follow up with an email to her as well.

I also loved that sunset shot on the snowy mountain. Simply Beautiful!

Did you happen to witness the full moon rise on Friday? The largest moon of the year it was. We saw it but I wasn't prepared and didn't have my camera. I just couldn't keep my eyes off of it and then the best part is on the other side of the sky was the sun set! Two absolutely beautiful and such different halves of sky that night!!
