My Weekend in Review...

Yeah, I know, exciting title to this post, but my creative mind has taken a leave of absence today. I know there are more interesting things I could blog about today, but I can't think of them at the moment. So I thought I would tell you about my weekend. Friday evening after getting home from work, I chatted with my sis on the phone and enjoyed a glass of wine or several, depends on how you look at it, watched a little TV and went to bed early. Saturday morning I started laundry, cleaned, did more laundry......and more laundry. I don't know where all of the dang laundry came from, but every time I turned around there was another pile that needed doing.......I swear the piles were like little rabbits and kept multiplying like crazy! I did manage to sit for a bit and catch up on a few of my shows that were on the DVR. Since going back to work full time, I don't watch TV like I used to. Okay, back to the exciting stuff....I can see you all on the edge of your seat....yeah right. Saturday evening, Hayman and I went to a local dinner held for the Nevada Chuckar Foundation. It is an invitation only event and it really is a lot of fun. They have a wonderful dinner, raffle and auction. We tried to bid on a few items, but got out-bid on both. The Governor of our State was in attendance and sat just a table away from us. Hayman and the Governor were actually in the bathroom at the same time. Exciting, I know.....you can hardly stand it. We got home very late on Saturday night or Sunday morning, depending on how you think about time. I was up early on Sunday and plopped my tired self in front of the TV and watched more recorded DVR shows. It was nice to just be lazy. Then guess what........oh come on guess.......Yep, I did more laundry. Where Sunday's laundry came from I will never know, but there were four more loads to do. I NEVER have that much laundry to do, EVER!! I am one of those people that keeps up with the laundry all week, but for whatever reason, it was never ending this weekend! The rest of Sunday was spent relaxing......I made a wonderful stew for dinner with homemade biscuits. I also made snickerdoodles for dessert. I watched a little more TV, then it was off to bed early as I had to get up early for work this morning. See, my weekend was so exciting.........I know, I know, you all want to rush out and have a weekend just like mine. Go ahead, I won't hog all of the fun for myself.........he, he, he, he.

Happy Monday to All.......

Actually I would like weekend like yours. Aside from the laundry it sounds so relaxing and warm. You need that sometimes.

Deserthen....this IS a very creative post! Well done. Funny tidbit about your hubby and the governor.

Oh, yeah.....laundry mountains grow here, too, and I can't understand it. Its just my husband, son, and me now, but there's more laundry than ever.

That's nice you took time for yourself....relaxing with the TV shows. Supper sounded yummy, too. Have a good week!

I finally summited Mt. Washmore tonight after ignoring the folding of the laundry all weekend. My most hated household task is mating socks.

I think the dinner sounds like a lot of fun- but I'm odd that way. My husband can't run far enough from that kind of thing but I love hob nobbing with anyone. The Governor? Wow.

Beautifully told! Many people pay to have weekends like this(minus the laundry).
I think the layers of winter makes my laundry grow. If I find out it is the laundry detergent, I am changing brands!

My question to you is...did the governor wash his hands?

Hello Ladies....thank you all for dropping by.

Deb, I didn't ask hubby if the Governor washed his hands....I will have to ask him. Now I want to know!

Gail, if you find that the laundry detergent is the cause of the mutiplying piles of clothes, please let me know and I will banish my brand from the house...he, he

Jeannelle, It is just three of us in our household too now and I still can't figure out where all of last weeks laundry came from. You would have thought another family was living with us for sure....=)

Cynthia, I'm not big on matching shocks either....but someone's gotta do it...right?? =) I love going out and meeting new people or catching up with folks we haven't seen in awhile...hubby can take it or leave it, depending on what the event might be, but he did have a good time last weekend...=)

Egghead and Colleen, the weekend was pretty relaxing, except for all of that laundry......=) I have a three day weekend coming up....wonder just how lazy I can be...he, he

Sounds like a weekend you so deserved...DH....minus the laundry of course. Maybe you should try having each person designated to do their own...LOL...just a thought, I know that'd never work, everyone would then be dressed in 'grey whites', pink undies, and wrinkled sox!
You should relax each weekend...and I give you permission to even have another glass of wine on my behalf!
Ain't that what friends are for??
And since you are such a wonderful friend...heck have two for me!
