Wordfull Wednesday: Inner Beauty

Cocoa over at http://chocolateonmycranium.blogspot.com/ is hosting Wordfull Wednesday and this weeks topic is Inner Beauty. What a great topic! I have had many, many thoughts going through this head of mine over the past few days, but I have finally settled on posting the following.

Never Judge A Book By Its Cover!

You may look at a "book"........ it is old, tattered, torn, wrinkled, creased.......and think, why on earth would I even bother with this.........you might just have very well passed up the best "story" you have ever read. You must look closer before you judge......open the book, give it a chance, read or listen, get to know the story.........yes, I'm speaking of judging others by what we see......it is what we don't see, the "Inner Beauty" that really matters.

Even a weed has Inner Beauty................

So very true! Reminds me of the scary looking guy that stopped to help us when the kids and I broke down coming home from Utah. He looked scary but was so kind and helpful. I've never forgotten that.

Did you take the picture?

Thank you for the comment Cocoa...=)

Yes, I did take the photo three summers ago on a trip to Oregon. I pulled over to take a photo of a stream with a little waterfall and on the way back to the car, I spotted the thistle weeds and butterflies......so there I was, on the side of the road snapping away. It is one of my favs......=)

What a nice reminder! I love that quote about judging a book by its cover. It was a perfect fit for inner beauty!!

Great quote and so true. Some of the most unlikely looking people are some of the most down to earth and kind people I know. I love to find out more about that soul inside because we all have one.

I have caught up on all of your entries now....great job. Some of your countryside reminds me of the area I grew up in....Durkee and some of the Baker County area...lots of sage brush and hills. But there is also pine trees and beautiful tree covered mountains. Kind of a mix.

Inner beauty- is something I'm trying to teach my 15 yr.old daughter "electricgirl"!! Going to a public high school where so many kids try to be "original" and end up looking the same; requires some sort of indivuality!! She hasn't caught on to the whole "Emo" thing just yet; and tho' she tells me she would never follow it in its entirety; she likes the look of the hair and clothes. I; on the other hand miss terribly the beautiful young lady that the good Lord gave me 15 yrs ago. The cute smile, and the boots and jeans kid she once was. Why do we as humans put so much value on how we look on the outside? What about what's inside our hearts and souls? Doesn't that make a difference too?
