Tuesday Tunes

I'm still trying to get my holiday happy on!
Just when I think I've found it, it slips away again!
Tried to do a little on-line shopping only to discover that the items I wanted were out of stock.
Frustrating! Didn't help the "holiday" mood at all!
I am happy to report that thanks to my hubby and daughter, our tree is in the house and decorated.
(A big hug to my family and thank you for putting up with my Grinchiness!)

So all Grinchiness aside, I thought I'd share one of my favorite Christmas carols.
I remember singing it in ninth grade choir.
Come to think of it, I probably sang off key and rather loudly. Humm, maybe that's what all those strange looks were for back then!

Anne Murray has a beautiful voice!
Enjoy!

Thursdays Things In A Row

It's Thursday and that means it's time for Thursdays Things In a Row.

I stopped at the store last week and discovered Christmas trees in a row.
These quail have been hanging around the lawn area at my office.
They are rather elusive and hard to photograph.
I just happened to catch them one morning basking in the early morning sun, in a row, on the planter.
The closer I got to them, the faster they ran away!

Bum Bum Haw Buggie

Okay, confession time!
I'm so not feelin' it!

You know what I'm talking about!
The hustle, the bustle...
That holiday glow!
The fun, the happy, the ho, ho, ho!

Yeah well, so not me right now!
Instead of feeling all holiday happy....

I feel more like this!
And this!

I really gotta snap out of it!
This bum, bum haw buggie feeling that I have!
And Soon!
(I told the family that I was feeling bah humbuggie and Countrychick started to say bah humbug, but it came out...well just read the title of this post and that is exactly what she said and it pretty much sums up just how I feel!)

A Lovely Bit of Randomness

The award below was bestowed upon me way back in October by the lovely Lisa from Laughing Orca Ranch.Thank you Lisa for this Lovely award and for thinking my blog worthy of it.

It has taken me this long (shame on me!) to get around to posting about it and passing it on.
I started a post and somehow it got deleted when I was doing a little housecleaning in the old blog posting section. I know many don't participate in blog awards anymore and that is fine. If you are one of these peeps and find your name on the list below, by no means are you required in any way to pass it on or participate.
But I do want to take a moment to acknowledge some of the wonderful blogs that I read on a regular basis.
In this world of high tech social media (Twitter, Facebook, that Google Friend thing), etc. I still find blogging to be the most enjoyable of the many forms out there! Blogging is certainly more insightful and fulfilling in a way that the others are not. So to everyone on my list, please know that I enjoy what you share and post!

After I share my list of favorite blogs, which by no means will cover all of the blogs I read and love because we would be here all day reading said list, I am supposed to share seven things about myself that some of you, well most of you, may not know about me.

First my list:

I could keep going with this list for sure, but I'll stop because it could go on and on and on. If you are looking for a new blog or two to read check out some on this list. They are fantastic!

Okay now for those seven things...

1. I was a mom before I was a wife. Gasp!

2. I've been married for twenty-two years! (together for twenty-five)

3. Since moving to our present location, I've moved six times to different locations in our little valley. I despise moving!

4. I have an unnatural fear of flying. I'm 42 and I have never, I repeat never flown!

5. I like Brussels sprouts!

6. I was pretty much raised as an only child even though I have two siblings. There is a seventeen year gap between my brother and I and a fourteen year gap between my sister and I. Mom and Dad didn't expect to have another child at the age of forty...but I was their little surprise!

7. I was painfully shy has a child and didn't make friends easily. Flash forward many years and that still holds true, not so much shy anymore, but wary of others and their motives and I tend to keep to myself. That old saying, "once bitten, twice shy" holds true with me. I'm a loyal friend, a great listener and I cherish those in my life. But hurt me or someone I love and we're done!

8. A little bonus tidbit: I tend to fly my freak flag at times and I'm proud of it!

Okay, hope I didn't scare anyone off...especially with that "I like Brussels sprouts" part!

Thursdays Things In A Row

Today is the first of December and it is also Thursday, which means it's time for Thursdays Things In A Row hosted by Pat at A View from the Edge.

Four generations of my family in a row!
My brother, my niece holding my great-nephew and my dad!
I love this shot!
The credit for the photo goes to my nephew-in-law. Thank you S for capturing this moment!
I think it is the perfect "row" shot!

The pine tree in front of my office building is dropping its cones.
A bed of needles cushion the fall of pine cones in a row.
Cinder block bricks and the last of the fall leaves in a row.

For more fun and fascinating Things In A Row, be sure to visit Pat.
