Vampire Wars

No it's not the latest series of Vampire books or shows. It just so happens to be the 'war' that happens in our house every Thursday night. (Or 'Hot Sexy Vampire Night' as I like to call it) 'I' being Countrychick. 'Tis true, I have taken over my mothers blog for the day, and no I have not hog tied her, stuffed a sock in her mouth and locked her in my closet... hehe. No really I haven't, I promise! So you can just ignore those strange muffled cries for help that just so happen to be coming from my room...

Sorry, had to fit my humor in there somewhere. I'm quite the comedian at times which I'm sure my mother's probably mentioned. Anywho, back to business! About a year or so ago (maybe less. Whenever Vampire Diaries premiered) I started watching it and instantly became hooked! My mom had no interest in the vampire stuff at that time so she'd just leave me to drool over my new favorite show. But a few months ago while I was watching an episode of the show she just so happened to sit down and watch it with me, as well as the other three episodes that I had recorded! She became addicted and was sad that the last episode was the season finale! (Sad being, she threw herself on the floor demanding to know why there were no more episodes!) She then proceeded to record all the re-runs so she could catch up on what she'd missed. Even though I'd been telling her for weeks that this show was the greatest thing ever and that she needed to watch it! (Do ya think she listened?) Anyways, once she was caught up on all the action she waited for the new season to start. In the mean time she became addicted to Twilight. I thought I was obsessed but she beats me by a long shot on that one! There are actually days where I wish I hadn't taken her to see Eclipse! LOL! But I love her just the same. No matter how much extensive 'Vampire' rehab I think she might need =)

So every Thursday night as most of you might know 'Vampire Diaries' is on, and for those of us that are just a little "vampire obsessed" things tend to get ugly! lol. In other words my mom and I tend to fight over who gets who! Kinda hard though when we're both fighting over Damon. Or drooling, which ever happens to come first! ...... Probably the drooling. I tell her the same thing every time though. That since I watched the show before she started watching, I've called dibs on Damon already and she can have Stefan. She wants no part of it and that usually leads to the 'Vampire argument'

Mom: "I don't care if you were watching it first, I call Damon."

Countrychick: "Nuh uh! I already called him so back off lady!"

Mom: *Stares blankly*

Countrychick: "You already have dibs on Edward (not that I want him anyways
*cough*GoTeamJacob*cough*) and Emmet! So therefore you can add Stefan to your little collection of vampires and leave Damon alone! Like I said he's mine!"

Mom: "No I still think I want Damon." *Smirks evilly*

Countrychick: *Raises one eyebrow* (Note: She hates when I do that 'cause she can't! haha!)

Mom: "I will fight you for him!"

Countrychick: "I'll BITE you!"

Mom: *No response*

And Damon is mine for another day *Insert dreamy look here* But yes that is just a little taste of what goes on during the commercial break of Vampire Diaries every Thursday night. Most of the time my dad will come out from playing his video game (He's not a fan of the vampires so he leaves to do something else.) and on the way back to the bedroom he'll stop and look at us arguing before shaking his head and going back to his game. The thought going through his mind (Typical women *insert eye roll here*) At the end of the night though we can both still agree that Vampire Diaries is one of thee best shows ever!!! YAY for hot vampires!! (That and Damon's still mine!) ;) hehe.

But I mean seriously, who wouldn't want some of that!

Realizing that I've probably just caused half of you to faint with that photo... hehe... I shall end this post with another Epic photo of vampire sexiness!

So Tiny, So Perfect

This photo was taken in Arizona in November of 2007 by Countrychick. I used it as our Christmas Card photo that year as well as having it enlarged and framed for the Grandparents as a gift. I love how tiny the hummers feet are and how it is gripping that stem so tightly.

200 and a Confession

I realized that this is my 200th post! Wow...took me long enough. My blogging has been sporadic at best over the last year or so. It certainly hasn't been for lack of not wanting to blog but more about not taking the time to do so. There are times when I think, "wow, I should blog about this or that" but life gets in the way and I just don't take the time to get it done. In the last few days I have posted more than I have in the past few months. I usually spend many hours on my computer at work each day and the last thing I was wanting to do when I got home was get on the computer and try to compose a blog. I realized this past week that I have missed blogging, so I have decided to get back to it. I might miss a day or two here and there, but my intent is to keep at it on a regular basis...I think it will be good stress relief.

Okay, now for the confession! I AM ADDICTED TO THE TWILIGHT SAGA! There I said it, I'm out of the closet. Countrychick has even suggested "Vampire" rehab for me...LOL.

Lets back up a bit...a few years ago, Countrychick was reading Twilight and telling me all about it. At the time, it didn't seem like anything I would be interested in, but I was happy that Countrychick had found a series of books that had captured her attention. Lets just say that up until this point she wasn't an avid reader. She blew through the first three books and then waited patiently for Breaking Dawn. She had seen Twilight with a friend when it was released and waited anxiously for New Moon. When New Moon was released she and a friend made plans to see the movie. I ended up going with them to that movie. I love going to the movies and just went along for the fun of it. I thought the movie was good, but didn't really "get it" at the time. Flash forward to this past July...Countrychick took me to see Eclipse for my birthday. I LOVED it and then it dawned on me that I needed to read the books...all of them. I read them all in a span of six weeks. I was obsessed to say the least. Then I went back and watched Twilight and New Moon. (I might or might not have watched them many times over and over again) I have joined the ranks of millions of Twilight fans...I'm obsessed. Yes, I probably do need some form of rehab or therapy and can Dr. Cullen be my Dr., please..lol.

I don't know what it is exactly, I can't put my finger on why this series of books and movies appeals to me, but the long and short of it is, I'm addicted, plain and simple!

Yes, I would love to be a Cullen!

I might or might not have a thing for Emmet...just say'in!

And I have been patiently waiting for the release of Eclipse! Due to my head cold I didn't make it to town to Walmart to buy it, but Directv is playing it on pay-per-view.... do'in the happy dance!
Oh and I'm only slightly addicted to the Vampire Diaries. I started watching this series last fall and quickly became addicted to it as well. I mean seriously, who wouldn't want to spend a Thursday night or any other night for that matter with these two!!
Who knew Vampires could be so HOT!

Colds

They are the pits! The scratchy throat started last Sunday...dealt with it Monday and Tuesday. Felt pretty good on Wednesday...that is until I got home from work. While fixing dinner I felt like someone dumped a ton of bricks on me. By bedtime I knew I was sick! So I have been home the last few days on the couch with my Kleenex, warm fuzzy blanket, hot drinks of various sorts, Vick's vapor rub, more Kleenex and a cat or two or three that want to curl up and nap on me.

And yes...my nose really is that red!

The nighttime, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, so you can rest medicine isn't working, so I'm going to try a hot-toddy or two or three.

Snowy Stroll

Yesterday during my lunch hour I grabbed the office camera (because my camera was at home) and took a little stroll around the outside of our office building.

There are a few fall leaves left on the ground and this one happened to be all alone in the snow.

There are lots of little cottontail bunnies that live around our office building. This one left his foot prints behind.

The "red berry" bush outside our office door.
The snow from the recent storms is melting, but another storm is forecast to bring more of the white stuff our way.

When Day is Done

Hayman took a fishing trip a few weeks back. He didn't get to do any fishing due to the weather...too much wind, but he did manage to take some wonderful sunset photos. He snapped these one evening and captured some amazing colors.
